Here I lie awake and pray,
May light and love take this pain away.
Yet once again I’m faced with fears,
These woes press on and bring me to tears.
Just when I’ve learnt to trust once more,
Evil was masked behind the door.
I was warned but heeded not,
So here I am now left to rot.
Have mercy on this lonely soul,
Who seeks kind shelter from the cold.
I cannot sleep, I cannot rest,
The damage done when I’ve tried my best.
But yet I breathe and seek the truth,
The aliveness once present in youth.
I must look even deeper within,
Only then will I truly win.
I must bring the darkness to the light
If I wish to see my dreams take flight.
Command the highest order of kings
Bearers of love and rainbow wings.

Let’s begin this Mother’s Day with this story.
“There was a story going around about the Special Olympics. For the hundred-yard dash, there were nine contestants, all of them so-called physically or mentally disabled. All nine of them assembled at the starting line and, at the sound of the gun, they took off. But one little boy didn’t get very far. He stumbled and fell and hurt his knee and began to cry. The other eight children heard the boy crying. They slowed down, turned around, and ran back to him–every one of them ran back to him. The little boy got up, and he and the rest of the runners linked their arms together and joyfully walked to the finish line.
They all finished the race at the same time. and when they did, everyone in the stadium stood up and clapped and whistled and cheered for a long, long time. And you know why? Because deep down we know that what matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too, even if it means slowing down and changing our course now and then.”

Tea, please.
Bubble tea has been an addiction of mine since discovering it about three years ago. Since then I’ve concocted recipes to change it up a bit and enjoy it peacefully at home..sans bubbles.
Milk Tea
1 Bag of either Coconut, Apple, Cocoa, Vanilla, Matcha, Green, or Black Tea
1 tsp raw honey/agave/cane sugar
1/4 cup vanilla almond or soy milk, frothed
Steep tea bag and sugar for 3-4 minutes. Froth almond milk by vigorously shaking in closed container or milk frother. Pour through side of cup.
For summer days, blend with handful of ice in blender and double portion.
As an adult, I’ve been keenly aware of how difficult it is to find genuine friendships. Most people are looking to see what the other can offer. What happened to being carefree and talking about life over a cup of tea?
Here is a list that distinguishes a friend from an opportunist.
FRIENDS
loyalty
keeps their word
there during difficult times
cares about your well being
has fun with you
checks to see if you’re okay
contributes.
looks out for you
OPPORTUNIST
only answers out of convenience
cancels often/makes excuses
no where to be found during hardships
cares about what you can offer them
very convincing in socializing with you
checks to see if you are still a connection
takes
looks out for themselves
There are exceptions to every rule, but this is just what I have learned. I value my friends dearly, and always look forward to meeting new friends. When I feel unrest, I have no problem severing the connection.
Here’s to genuine relationships. Cheers.
To the seekers who have not yet found their purpose,
But actively seeking for direction,
Listen carefully.
There is a language which requires no words.
A language understood by every breathing being, regardless of geography or species.
It is the voice of the universe.
It is always guiding you lest you drown it out with external mental chatter.
Its effects are instant, communicative from one soul to the other.
It is found in the stillness in between moments,
Acknowledged through the eyes,
And felt throught the senses.
Remember who you are.
Do what activates every cell in your body.
It is a feeling unlike any other.
When your heart dances and time is no more,
You will be free.

Long Live The King
Each moment as I become more aware that one day it all ends,
I am brought back onto the seat of the witness.
Despite the struggles, despite the suffering, here I am.
I am a breathing organism, once a spectacle inside a womb.
Once I was a child, doing everything carefree.
Now I am with a mind that has a hold on me.
When I was about five or six, I was told
Everything changes and we grow old.
At first I cried, fearing loss and separation.
Is life so cruel to its own creation?
So my goals have always been in the name of love.
My will to protect keeps me floating above.
I’ve learned to look beyond exterior,
As people’s motives are often ulterior.
The voice within has awakened today.
No longer will I be led astray.
